Three-Fifths

Aw, what a cute picture!  Right after Mira was born Brian took the kids to a friend's birthday party and this picture came with the thank you card.  How thoughtful is that!?  I love it.  It's three-fifths of the family!  We actually have parent night at Gabe's school next week and we're supposed to bring a family photo.  Guess that means we're attempting to take a family photo this weekend.  This should be hysterical.

Halloween

Gabe wants to be a ghost this year, and since I'm going to be throwing his costume together myself, I've been trying to figure out what exactly he thinks a ghost looks like.  So I asked him to draw me a picture.  This is what I got.  Wish me luck!

8 Weeks

Mira's eight weeks old today.  Only a few more weeks till we hit the magical 3-month point.  As it is, she's already inching towards "baby" and away from "newborn."  We're almost there!

Nursing Party

Ellie and Gabe practice nursing the rainbow bears they got at the neighbor's birthday party.  I didn't have the heart to point out the biological impossibility to Gabe.

Rockwood Hall

There are lots of beautiful places surrounding us, but Rockwood Hall is one of our favorites:  An old mansion foundation that triggers the gothic-romantic in me? Check.  Mowed, but not manicured, fields for the kids to run in?  Check.  Views of the Hudson that'll blow your mind?  Checkmate.

It's pretty darn awesome.  Plus, it's on my running route.  I'm not back running (YET) but today the kids and I went for a walk and a little tree climbing.  I also managed to get everyone back and forth from school, and pulled off a family Shabbat dinner.  I rocked today.

So, this happened.

And Gabe starts preschool next week.  It's going to be an adjustment - all of us learning our new routines and how to get everyone dressed, fed, out the door, and back again.  Dressed, fed, out the door, and back again.  That's the story of my life.
